Confidence and Self-esteem Coaching in Norwich & Online

When we think about what self-esteem means, we can describe it as the way you feel about yourself, and how you view yourself in terms of your self-worth. The way you view yourself, or to put it another way, your level of self-esteem, will have a significant impact on the decisions you make, what you believe is possible for you, and how you will be treated by others. Self-confidence is having the trust or faith in your own abilities, quality or judgement. Lacking in confidence and self-esteem often are accompanied by some form of stress or anxiety.

People with low self-esteem will unconsciously limit themselves and hold themselves back from reaching their full potential. Many people with low self-esteem believe they are not ‘good enough’ or that they have nothing meaningful to offer, when this really couldn’t be further from the truth.

As John Dewey so elegantly stated “A problem well-defined is a problem half solved.” Taking the time to implement the small changes in the ‘8 small steps to change your life’ can help you build confidence and improve self-esteem.

Confidence coaching and Executive coaching.

There are many elements to becoming self-confident, my confidence coaching packages in the heart of Norwich can really help you to learn how to build confidence and to help you to communicate effectively and confidently in any environment. These packages function as a confidence course; gradually building your skills, improving your public speaking abilities and various communication styles. At the end of the packages I hope that you can go into any environment or context in your life believing  you have the knowledge and the skills to get the outcome that you want. I can help you explore the root cause of why you are lacking confidence, and give you the information, guidance and expertise to learn from these experiences and turn them into powerful motivating experiences.

There can be many stresses and worries in the workplace that can affect your confidence and self-esteem. I run a highly successful 5 or 8 session executive coaching package to help you improve your confidence and self-esteem at work, and this can lead to a dramatically improved work performance. These programs cover a range of different topics designed to help you learn how to build your self-confidence and self-esteem at work. This ranges from helping you to improve your communication skills to build better rapport, helping you to become more persuasive and influential at work, to improving your ability to speak in public, and memory enhancing techniques to improve your retention of information. My executive coaching packages can also help you deal with colleagues that may seem intimidating, help with workplace bullying, and I can provide you with tools and techniques to help you when working in competition against a colleague or rival.

Low self-esteem is when you feel badly about yourself, it is characterised by a low level of self-confidence, a feeling of being not good enough and a feeling of being incompetent. Low self-esteem can often occur as a result of other health conditions; such as social anxiety, fears and phobias like public speaking, depression and issues around weight loss. My successful hypnotherapy packages can help you improve your self-esteem, increase your confidence and boost your sense of self-worth.

The good news about self-esteem is that it is not fixed and solid, and so it responds very well to coaching and hypnotherapy. My in person and online coaching and hypnotherapy packages can help you to change thought patterns, build communication skills, and clear old painful memories. These packages serve to work as a form of confidence training to help you believe in yourself, move past your current limitations and give you the skills and tools you need to move forwards with confidence.

Everyone comes into the world with the confidence and playfulness that a young child so easily demonstrates. However, as we go through school, become teenagers and develop into an adult sometimes we experience a series of negative life events that can really knock and dent our self-esteem. Hypnotherapy can be an effective approach to self improvement and help you to find the root causes of low self-esteem and to help you rediscover your natural, confident self.

Common causes of low self-esteem.

Body Image: when you look at yourself in the mirror what words, phrases or questions come to mind about the way you look? If you are not happy with the way your body looks, you may not feel like you are comfortable speaking to people, having the limelight on you, or wearing certain clothes or outfits you would otherwise enjoy. Body image issues can affect anyone from teenagers to the elderly, and can affect both men and women equally. As we hear those voices of criticism and disapproval, this leads to chemical reaction in the brain that produces the chemicals that make us feel the way that matches our thoughts. Resulting in feeling not good enough or not enough. Many times our internal voice is harsher than anything else another person could say.

Negative company: The environment we surround ourselves in has a massive impact on how we think and feel. If you are in a group or with a partner who has low self-esteem, this can rub off on you and lead you to allowing your self-esteem to plummet. When you are around other people with low self-esteem, they can sometimes lash out. This is often to hide their own hurt but your self-esteem can still take a hit from hearing hurtful words or phrases. People with high self-esteem know that the people you spend the most time with will have the greatest impact on you, so surrounding yourself with happy, positive people can make all the difference.

Relationship with caregivers growing up: The way our parents feel about themselves and their life when we are young will influence how we feel and how we develop our self-esteem. Parents with low self-esteem can often inadvertently teach these negative thought patterns and beliefs to their young children, who lack the mental filters and life experience to know what is happening. These beliefs take a free ride into our unconscious where they sit and take root, until they are upgraded. We might have felt as though our parents didn’t care about us, and this can lead us to believe we don’t deserve to love and be loved.

Abuse: Anyone who has been mentally, physically or sexually abused can often have low self-esteem. Traumatic events when young can lead us to making certain meanings about ourselves and the world around us. Unless these issues are addressed and resolved, feelings of low self-esteem can develop into depression or other serious issues such as suicide.

Setting unrealistic goals: If you have a goal in mind, but either lack the knowledge of how to get there, as in you have no road map, or your targets are too vague, not measurable, or you set unrealistic time limits, this can lead to low self-esteem. Learning how to make SMART goals and building a road map of how to get there, as well as by taking feedback along the way can change the way you view yourself.

Something to think about...

Never settle for being a character in someone else'’s story when you are meant to be the author of your own.

How often do you think about your current issue?

How much energy do you waste on thinking, ruminating and worrying about it?

How much money have you spent trying to get it sorted? Consider your self-development books, audios and exercising.

More importantly, what will happen over the next 5 to 10 years if you decide not to get this sorted? What opportunities could you potentially miss out on?

Where will you be putting your attention after this has been resolved?

What would be possible for you then?
